The Catacombs

Not for the faint-hearted, the Catacombs of Paris are underground ossuaries which hold the remains of more than 6 million people. The Catacombs are located small part of a tunnel network which used to consolidate Paris’ ancient stone mines. The catacombs were built to eliminate the city’s overflowing cemeteries.
