Jardin du Luxembourg

This garden is located between Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Latin Quarter. It is split into French-style and English-style gardens, divided by a forest and a pond. You can also find an apple orchard, an apiary, greenhouses, fountains, and 106 statues throughout the park.

Jardin des Tuileries

Colonnes de Buren

The Colonnes de Buren, also known as Les Deux Plateaux, is a highly controversial art installation created in 1986 by Daniel Buren. It is located in the inner courtyard of the Palais Royal and was designed to conceal ventilation shafts. While not necessarily a place to sit down and relax, it is surely a unique and picturesque site.

Monuments and Churches

Panthéon

The Panthéon is located in the Latin Quarter and modeled on the Pantheon in Rome. Be sure to go inside and check out its interior dome and stunning floors and ceilings. An exact copy of Foucault’s pendulum, which evidences the Earth’s rotation, can also be found here.

Sainte-Chapelle

The Sainte-Chapelle is a Gothic style royal chapel that was built in the 1200s to store the king’s relics. It has been secularized since the French Revolution and contains one of the most extensive (and beautiful) 13th-century stained glass collections in the world. This is definitely one of our favorite beautiful places in Paris to visit.
