Thinking of taking your kids on a vacation trip to Paris? It could be difficult to understand what there is to do. Here are 10 things to do when you plan vacations to Paris with kids.

1) Take a stroll along the Seine

You can see the la Tour Eiffel, le Musée d’Orsay, Place de la Concorde, le Louvre, le Pont Neuf, l’Hôtel de Ville, Notre-Dame and La Sainte Chapelle. If you find yourselves walking along the Seine, near the Musée d’Orsay, the Invalides, and Place de la Concorde, you will find an area by the Seine called les Berges. Les Berges offer a numerous amount of outdoor play structures, outdoor games, and rest areas for kids.

2) Disneyland

Disneyland Paris is composed of two parks: Disneyland Park et Walt Disney Studios Park. Allow for at least one day at Disneyland Paris because both parks are filled with restaurants, charming experiences, and rides including Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast.

Another way you can explore Paris with kids is by riding on a river cruise. This outdoor tour boat is a wonderful way to relax for an afternoon, and not miss out on one of the must-see sites. Some companies also offer cruise lunches and dinners for an additional cost. Keep in mind that there are also discounted prices for kids.


4) Museums 

Paris, being a historical city, there are several museums to visit! In addition to the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou has interactive exhibitions for kids. The Musée de la Poupée is enchanting for little girls and Grévin is a wax museum where kids can take pictures with famous wax figures like Barack Obama, Brigitte Bardot and the queen.

5) Les Invalides

Les Invalides houses the biggest collection of the nation on the history of the French army and the remains of Napoleon housed in an extravagant tomb. This is the ideal place for kids who are a little older (teenagers) interested in weapons of war and history.

6) Champs Elysées

For an ideal shopping session, or for a stroll on a beautiful Parisian day, go towards avenue des Champs Elysée. At the Champs Elysée there are stores that everyone loves. From high-end luxury boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Chanel, to less expensive options like Banana Republic, Marks and Spencer, and Levi, there is a store for everyone to shop at!

7) Restaurants

8) Luxembourg Gardens

Initially commissioned by Marie de Medici, this park holds more than 2000 trees, 100 statues, monuments, and fountains. It is the setting of various pieces of famous literature including the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables. The Luxembourg Gardens is a fantastic spot to bring the family for a picnic and after, to rent mini wooden boats for boat races in one of the fountains.

9) The Vincennes Zoo

In Paris, there are several zoos and aquariums to visit, but the most popular, the Vincennes Zoo, is a success for kids. There are five principal natural environments (bio zones) that make up the zoo. The Vincennes Zoo allows you to have breakfast with giraffes, special encounters with animals in the animal park, and provides guided tours.

10) Versailles

The majestic Palace of Versailles is a place where you shouldn’t miss seeing when planning your tips to Paris with kids. Located on the outskirts of the city if Paris, Versailles is the most exquisite palace of all of France. After having gone through the palace, make your way to the gardens to see the fountains. If you’re lucky, you might see the water show! You can bring a picnic here, stay in the gardens, make your way to the little pond, or take a little train to discover the Grand Trion and the house of Marie-Antoinette. Be sure to give yourself a lot of time for Versailles, as there is a lot to do and see.

1. Visit the Musée de l’Orangerie

A must-see: Monet’s water lilies in the Musée de l’Orangerie. Situated in the Jardins des Tuileries, it is one of the favorite museums of Parisians and visitors. Built in 1852 as a winter shelter for the orange trees in the Tuileries Garden, it accommodates today the masterpieces of Monet and many other works of impressionists like Cézanne and Gauguin. From the 20th century you’ll find 12 pieces by Pablo Picasso as well as 10 Matisse and many others. The famous American bookshop in Paris is located on the left bank next to the river Seine and opposite of the Notre Dame Cathedral. 4. Enjoy an evening in Le Crazy Horse
