You will start your day by taking the train from Paris to Giverny. Then, you will be driven to the place where every art and nature lover would love to be, at least once in a lifetime: the House of Monet and his beautiful gardens.
You will have the unique opportunity to visit two gardens: the Clos Normand, a flower garden full of symmetries and colours, where fruit trees, roses and different varieties of flowers grow all together. Then, the Water Garden, inspired by Japanese paintings, with the famous water lilies and the pond, surrounded by willow trees. You can walk on the side alleys and around the garden, to try every single perspective and experience both the hidden and the regular passages.
The Japanese bridge is another must-see: surrounded by wisterias, it was one of Monet’s favourite elements in the garden.
Later, you can visit the House of Monet: you will see the famous “Blue sitting room” where the artist used to read. You can enter Monet’s first studio and, on the first floor, you can visit the private apartments, with paintings from some friends such as Cézanne and Renoir. There, you will also have the chance to see a collection of Japanese “estampes”.
Once the tour is over, you can go to the Foundation Claude Monet gift and book shop, situated inside the “Waterlily” studio, and choose what you like most among the great variety of teas, books, postcards, posters, vases, or even Champagne glasses presented.
At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to the train station and then you will take the train back to Paris.
