Morning Activities in Paris
If you are an early riser or just can’t imagine sleeping in the City of Lights, you may be disappointed that the Paris museums do not open when the sun rises. But do not worry! There are plenty of early morning activities in Paris that you can do to get your day as early as you are.
Parisian Sunrise
If you love seeing the beautiful colors of the sky at sunrise, then you are in luck. Some of the best views in Paris are only made better by the pink sky in the horizon. Get your early morning coffee and sit on the Trocadero to watch the Eiffel Tower gleam while you listen to “La Vie en Rose.” I promise it will make for a very memorable morning. AND because sunrise is around 5:40 in the summertime, there will be far less tourists taking away from your experience. Go to the Louvre, sit in front of the Arc de Triomphe. The sky will be a sight to see, no matter where you are in the city.
Food and Flea Markets

Since they generally open around 7 am all over the city, it is a great “next stop” for your early morning itinerary. Browse the fresh produce and be amazed by the selection of cheeses, fish, and charcuterie. These markets are located all over the city on different days of the week, so it’s impossible to not find a market with delicious foods. Get a savory crêpe for breakfast and roam the cobble stone streets or buy food to make a yummy picnic for lunch.
However, while many markets may only have food, there are also many markets that also (or exclusively) sell new and used items such as vintage clothing or antique cutlery. Digging through these markets for a special souvenir is another great morning activity as the markets open relatively early. (And if you get there before everyone else, you have first pick on all the goods!)
Delicious Breakfast
If you rather sit and enjoy the scenery, there are many cute, delicious places for you to grab a bite. No matter what you are in the mood for, you will be able to find a quality restaurant that can satisfy your taste buds. If you are looking for something a bit more low-key, there are many boulangeries where you can sit to relax with an americano in one hand and a butter croissant in the other. This, especially, is a great way to start your day like a local. When in Paris, do as the Parisians do, right?
Stroll through the Parks
Although this may seem like a simple answer, you can not underestimate a walk through the park on a beautiful Parisian morning. Whether you go at sunrise or as the day is beginning, the beauty of the Parisian parks is unparalleled. There are limitless possibilities for you too. You could walk through a new park each morning of a one-week vacation, and not even come close to seeing all that Parisian parks have to offer. Stop and smell the roses, or you’ll get your 10,000 steps before it has even reached noon!
