Whether you are a foodie or an art lover, being in Paris is bound to give you a kick of inspiration. Maybe so much so that you want to learn how to recreate some of what you see and experience. Luckily, there are many options of classes to take in Paris to explore your hands-on, creative side.
Art Classes in Paris
Travel Sketchbook Workshop
Artist Pauline Fraisse teaches her unique sketchbook workshop all over the world. Her Paris class immediately became a hit with tourists and locals alike and comes in many different varieties. She offers 3 hour courses for adults, 1.5 and 1 hour courses for children, and half day private courses at Giverny.
Magdalena offers art courses mainly from the comfort of her 9th arrondissement studio. She also brings her students to various museums around Paris from time to time. Whether you are just beginning your artistic journey or are already advanced, she is able to adapt her teaching to enhance your knowledge of art history and technique. You pay for your courses by the hour, which makes it easy to do just as much as you have time for.
The Atelier d’Artistes has been around since 2002, with the goal of creating an inclusive space for students to explore sketching, painting, and sculpting at a suitable pace for their level. To make their studio accessible, they have locations in the 12th, 15th, and 17th arrondissements of Paris. This is a good choice if you are visiting Paris for long enough to sign up for at least 10 classes. If you are feeling hesitant or only have time for one class, you can sign up for their trial workshop, which if completely free. P.S. – If you are also a nature lover, I recommend going to their studio in the 12th arrondissement, which is very close to the Bois de Vincennes park.

If you love breakfast pastries just as much as we do, you probably dream about learning how to make them. In just 3 hours, you can learn how to make the iconic Parisian croissant, pain au chocolat, and pain au raisin. Don’t miss out on one of the top classes to take in Paris (and a chance to show off to your friends and family back home).

The same company, La Cuisine Paris, is back again with a pre-dinner social experience where you can learn to master gougères cheese puffs, homemade mayonnaise, quail eggs, rillettes, baked mushrooms, and more. To make it even better, you get to finish the class with a glass of Kir Royale.
A World in a Pan
The chef, Perrine, offers 6 cooking classes taught in English. In the class “just like a Parisian“, you meet at her apartment before going to the market to choose your produce. Then, you cook with eight or less people and enjoy what you made over a glass of wine. What you cook is tailored to your tastes and the season, so feel free to go more than once! Traveling with family? Bring them to the “Little Chef” class!
