Why Corporate Travelers Like to Stay in the Marriott Hotel in Paris

There are an almost infinite number of hotels to stay in in Paris and it can be hard to decide the right one for your group.  Many corporate travelers choose to stay in a Marriott Hotel in Paris for many reasons beyond just being loyal customers.  We have put together a few reasons why people tend to choose the Marriott Hotel and Conference center in Paris for their business trips to the city.

Métro, budget accommodation in Paris, event companies in Paris, Marriott Hotel in Paris

The Marriott Hotel and Conference Center is located between the 13th and 14th Arrondissement, which means it is close to the Catacombs.  It also means you are only a short metro ride from many attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the Louvre Museum. With that in mind, we should say too that the hotel is very close to multiple metro and bus stops, making it easy for you and your group to get around.  Close to the Marriot Hotel in Paris, you will also find numerous restaurants and bars to enjoy with your corporate group.

In this Marriott hotel in Paris, there are nine types of rooms, which is a big reason people like it so much.  The rooms include deluxe rooms, executive rooms, suites, and superior rooms.  Each of these may not be necessary for you and your group, but it is nice to stay in a hotel with a variety of options regarding places to sleep.  On top of this, the hotel has over 700 rooms which means it can accommodate virtually any size corporate group.  It’s nice when going away with a company to have everyone staying under the same roof, and the Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel and Conference Center makes this possible.

Conference Facilities

One of the most convenient things about staying in the Marriot Hotel and Conference Center is just that – the conference center and facilities.  Since you’ll be traveling as part of a corporate trip, it can save you and your group a lot of time and effort to have these facilities in the same building as you are staying.  In this Marriott Hotel in Paris, there are 55 event rooms, with one banquet room that can hold up to 2,000 people, as well as numerous small breakout rooms.

The conference centers aren’t the only benefit to the Marriot Hotel since it also has a large array of other amenities. Each room is equipped with its own coffee machine, Wi-Fi, a mini fridge, and alarm clock which is great for all guests.  Also, the main hotel has a fitness center that all guests can use, room service and a restaurant suitable for business cliental. The restaurant’s name is R’Yves Bar and Lounge and can be found within the hotel itself.  This Marriot Hotel in Paris also has parking services, a foreign exchange service, a valet, dry cleaning, and a barber/beauty shop on the premises.  Last, but not least – in fact, most importantly in our opinion, the hotel has a concierge!  A concierge that is who is used to providing recommendations and suggestions to other groups of corporate travelers like yourself.  They have more experience in your specific realm than maybe some other hotels would have.

3 Recommended Group Activities in Paris for Your CTrip

Traveling to Paris for a business trip is a great choice! With many great conference centers and hotels, you really can’t go wrong!  Corporate trips though require a balance of meetings and fun activities.  We know it can be hard to decide the best things to do with your whole crowd, so we have a few recommendations for group activities in Paris for you to make the most out of your trip.

Book a Tour of Paris

team building in Paris, group activities in Paris

A tour of Paris obviously a must if you’re visiting for any length of time, because you’ll want to see all the famous monuments and attractions.  A tour is also one of the best group activities in Paris because it gives everyone a chance to really experience the city together.  You can also make it even more fun and unusual by straying from the traditional hop-on hop-off bus tour.  Why not try something different? Maybe a Segway tour for example, or an off the beaten path walking tour.  For some recommendations of some other unusual ways to tour Paris, click here.

Take a Dinner Cruise

Seine River Cruise, corporate event in Paris, group activities in Paris

You’ve got to eat! So, why not make the most of one of your meals and of the beautiful city, by combining the two! A dinner cruise is one of the best group activities in Paris. You can book for a variety of numbers, times, and through multiple companies, but in all cases, the cruise will take you almost the entire stretch of the Seine River.  This will allow you to see monuments like Notre Dame, the Louvre exterior, the Eiffel Tower, and so much more, all while enjoying a delicious three course meal.  A long and entertaining dinner is also a great way for your team to bond because they’ll be sitting all together, talking and eating, while also experiencing the city together.

Travel Somewhere Outside of the City

Student Tours in France, Group Activities in Paris

Paris is obviously a wonderful city and a great place for your corporate trip, but what you may not know, is how much there is to do and see beyond the city itself.  You can spend the day exploring one of France’s many stunning castles – Versailles Castle, Fountain Bleu, and Chantilly Castle are just a few examples of great spots only a short train ride away.  You could also visit the Champagne region of France – getting to explore the Champagne Houses and Cellars is an experience like no other.  Another excellent area is the Loire Valley – if you love wine, this is definitely the place for you! You could even spend the day at a theme park – Disneyland or Park Asterix would have to be our top choices.  Any of these day trips would be a great group activity.  A day trip allows you all to bond and take on a new experience together.

How to Choose a Business Hotel in Paris

If you’ve decided to plan a corporate trip to Paris, you have already made one step in the right direction.  You will now have to start planning every element of the trip, likely starting with accommodation.  It can be overwhelming to start searching for a place for your whole group to stay, so we have some recommendations for how to narrow down your search for a business hotel in Paris.

Where do you want to be?

visit paris and france Find information about how to travel in Paris. Travelling in Paris is relatively easy and cheap as long as you use public transport, apps to download before traveling, business hotel in paris

The first step to finding a business hotel in Paris is deciding on a location.  Before you begin looking, you will probably want to have a rough idea of any activities you may want to have your group participate in as this will likely determine the best area for you to stay. Once you have a concept of the activities, you can narrow your search to a specific area – maybe you want to be close to the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre? Just make sure you know before looking otherwise your options are virtually endless. On top of your general location, you will likely want to be close to a metro station or some type of public transport to make it much easier for your group to get around.  Always keep this in mind when looking for a hotel because you don’t want to get caught out and lose money and time being away from public transport.

Do you need conference rooms?

Corporate event, corporate event in Paris, business event in Paris, event companies in Paris, business hotel in paris

Since you’re coming to Paris as part of a corporate trip, you’ll likely need meeting and conference rooms booked before arrival.  These can be in your hotel or in a secondary location; it’s entirely up to you, but is very important you make this decision before booking a hotel.  Many business hotels in Paris do have conference rooms within them, but it’s not always guaranteed so be sure to keep an eye out for this when searching for your hotel.

How many rooms do you require?

Before you even look for a hotel, you’ll need to know how many rooms you need, meaning how many people are joining you on the trip.  A lot of business hotels in Paris are on the larger side so they will likely be able to accommodate an entire group but in order to guarantee this, you should book as far in advance as possible.  You may also decide to use more than one hotel if your group is that big – just be aware of their proximity to one another if this is the case.

Is the brand important to you?

Corporate event, business hotels in Paris

We all have our own way of doing things, and maybe you and your company have a specific hotel chain that you always stay in when traveling.  This is fine, but make sure you check the hotel in Paris actually has everything you need for your stay.  You also may find in a city as big as Paris that your hotel chain of preference has more than one location, so just explore the details of all of them carefully before booking.

Should you use a trip planning agency?

Business Hotel in Paris

Planning a trip for a large corporate group can be very challenging; beyond just booking a business hotel in Paris, you have to think about activities, transportation, and conferences. Travel agencies in Paris can help you with all elements of your trip, starting with the booking of a hotel! They’ll know the best locations, the best companies, the best deals, and they’ll be able to book it for you.  For more information on how ParisByM can help you, click here.

5 Reasons to Stay in Conference Hotels in Paris

We highly recommend visiting Paris for your corporate trip, but we understand how much thought and time it takes to plan.  One of the biggest decisions you have to make it where to stay.  We’ve compiled this list of reasons to stay in conference hotels in Paris during your Ctrip.

They have all you need in one building

Business Hotel in Paris, conference hotels in Paris

Conference hotels in Paris are designed especially for business travelers, which means they have virtually everything you could desire (for the business side of your trip) under one roof.  While obviously you’ll have to venture out for attractions and museums, within conference hotels, you will have all your rooms, meeting spaces, and conference spaces.  On top of this, conference hotels in Paris are often equipped with speedy Wi-Fi, a coffee shop, a business appropriate restaurant, and a concierge with recommendations targeted specifically toward business groups like you!

Their locations are strategic

Corporate offers, conference hotels in Paris

You probably already know this, but there are different spots in Paris that are perfect for a different audience to stay.  For example, the perfect spot for a young family is not that for a group of college students, or a corporate team, and hotel companies know this and place themselves strategically in the ideal location for their target markets.  Conference hotels in Paris know that you don’t necessarily want to be staying directly next to the busiest street for nightlife, but that you also don’t want to be situated in the middle of nowhere.  They have done the research and found what they believe to be the ideal spot for corporate groups such as yourself so it’s extremely logical for you to benefit from this research and stay in their hotels.

They can accommodate groups of almost any size

Corporate event, Paris Conference Center, conference hotels in Paris

During your corporate trip, you probably want your entire group to be staying under the same roof.  This will make it easier to plan activities, schedules meetings and conferences, and just to have your trip run smoothly.  Often, corporate trips mean large groups, and this may be the case for you, which can make it quite hard to find a place to accommodate everyone.  This is where conference hotels in Paris can be great – because they are built purposely for corporate groups.  This means they often have the space to accommodate large groups.  The Paris Marriott Rive Gauche Hotel & Conference Center for example, has over 750 rooms, 55 conference rooms, with one space that holds up to 2,000 people.

Their reviews are relevant to you

Rooftop in Paris, conference hotels in Paris

As mentioned, conference hotels in Paris are specifically targeting business travelers, which means their previous guests have been those requiring a similar experience to you.  With this in mind, the hotel reviews are likely more reliable for you and your group so you can make a much more informed decision after reading them.

You can find one for virtually any budget

Obviously different trips have different budgets, and we get that!  Thankfully corporate hotels do not accommodate only the luxury travelers or only the budget travelers.  Their prices and amenities vary drastically, which makes it possible to find the perfect spot for virtually any budget.  With a smaller budget, you will obviously be sacrificing some aspect, and with a luxury budget, you’ll be given more.  This is where a trip planner can be especially helpful, because they can understand your groups needs and wants and help you with recommendations of where to save and where to spend throughout your trip – and your hotel booking.

What to Pack for a Business Trip to Paris

With the largest Convention Center in Europe, countless great hotels, and numerous Trade shows year-round, it’s not difficult to see why Paris is a great spot for Corporate Trips.  If you’re planning on coming to Paris for your business trip, you’ll want to pack efficiently and effectively, and you won’t want to forget a thing!  That’s why we have created this packing list; to make the preparation for your business trip to Paris much easier.

Should I Take Only Hand Luggage or A Checked Bag?

Student Trips to Paris, Business Trip to Paris

The answer to this question is really dependent on how long you’ll be in the city for, as well as exactly what your itinerary is.  A busier and more diverse itinerary for your business trip to Paris requires a different volume of things than a small two-day trip for example.

If you’ll only be here for a few days and can fit everything you will need into a small suitcase, then it’s definitely in your best interest to only travel with hand luggage.  This can save you time in the airport because you can skip the luggage collection process and head straight to the city upon arrivals.  It can also just be physically easier for you because you won’t have to worry about carting around more than one bag for such a short trip.

Corporate Offers, Business Trip to Paris

For a longer business trip to Paris, with a more diverse itinerary, we recommend a hand luggage case as well as a checked bag.  This will allow you to bring everything you could need, including shoes, toiletries, formal outfits and casual outfits, as well as all other bits and pieces that we will detail for you.  If you decide to bring both a carry on and a checked back, we recommend packing a few necessities in your carry on just in case.  Including a change of clothes, a toothbrush, an adaptor, headphones, and anything else you think you couldn’t live without for a night or two.

So, What Do I need?

Whether you bring only hand luggage or a checked bag, and whether your business trip to Paris is two days or two weeks, there are a few things you will need no matter what.  Here’s our list, but let us know if we’ve missed anything!

Student trips to paris, Business Trip to Paris

  • Adaptors – European outlets are different to those in all other continents and there is nothing worse than arriving in a new country with no way to charge your phone or computer! Make sure you think about this before you leave and pack one or two adapters for the duration of your trip.
  • Euros – Although most places will take debit or credit cards these days, it’s a good idea to have some of the local currency on you at all times just in case! We recommend getting some euros before even arriving in Paris to make sure you’re completely ready when you land.
  • Medication – Remember when abroad it can be hard to get your hands on the medication you’re used to and you really don’t want to arrive in a foreign country and have to search high and low for something you know you have at home. If there’s anything you need to take on a schedule, make sure you pack this in your hand luggage just in case something happens to a checked bag!
  • Any travel documents or itineraries – For your business trip to Paris, you may need a visa or supporting documents, if this is the case, make sure you have them on you at all times. Also, you have probably been provided with an itinerary for the trip; keep this on you always so that if you are delayed or late for some reason, you know exactly where to go at any given time.

Having excursions that allow your group to still spend the evening in the fabulous city can be the best way to get the best of both worlds.  Here’s our top picks for excursions close to Paris.

  • Giverny – This give people the chance to explore Monet’s house and gardens – where the famous Water Lily paintings were inspired. Giverny is only an option if you’re coming to Paris during the warmer months as the gardens close in October for the winter season, but it’s definitely great if it’s opening months line up with your schedule.
  • Versailles – A world famous town, chateau, and garden, Versailles is definitely a great option for your groups trip. It’s just a quick ride on the RER from the center of Paris so easy to get back in time for an evening in Paris.
  • Castles – Obviously Versailles is a famous castle that’s worth a visit, but there are some other spots you may not have thought of. For example, Fontainebleau, Vaux le Vicomte, or Chantilly are beautiful castles not far from the city so great for your group to visit.

A Full Day Further Away from Paris

Mont Saint Michel, mont saint michel abbey, france tourist attractions, French DMC

Some people in your group may have already been to Paris and have an interest in exploring the regions a little further out.  That’s also very do-able during a day trip and as a French DMC, we think we’ve got the top spots for you to choose from.

  • Mont-Saint-Michel – The stunning chateau located just off the beaches of Normandy takes a little longer to get to, so it’ll definitely take at least a whole day to visit and explore the castle and its views.
  • Normandy Beaches – Visiting Normandy can give you a chance to see the D-Day beaches and to explore a number of WWII museums – it’s a great way to learn about the history of this infamous area.
  • Champagne Region – The region, only an a little over an hour away from Paris, is a great spot for you to spend time in a smaller French town, as well as see the famous houses where the luxury drink is produced.
  • Loire Valley – Another great spot for a day trip is the wine region of France, for a chance to see and taste the drinks in the famous region itself.

Amusement Parks

Galeries Lafayette

Coming to Paris on a corporate trip means a big part of your group might want to stay in the city and experience it to the fullest extent, and we get that! That’s why we have come up with a list of potential excursions that take place right in the city itself.

  • Organized City Tour – This can give you the chance to see all of Paris’s famous landmarks and to learn the city’s history, culture, and really make the most of it.
  • Cooking Class – A cooking class can not only be a great cultural experience but also a great chance to try something new and maybe go home with a new recipe for your repertoire! This activity can also be a great bonding experience for the group who choose to participate.
  • Wine Tasting – What better place to have wine that in the middle of Paris. This is a great way to have fun in the city, and usually these experiences only take about half a day, so those who participate will also have the rest of the day free to explore the city.
  • Shopping Trip – As one of the four biggest fashion capitals of the world, some people may want to have a chance to see the famous shopping districts and buy things to take home.

Day Trips from Paris with a Student Group

Traveling with a group of students can be all kinds of challenging, from deciding where to go, where to stay, what to see and everything in between.  For that, we are here to help with some advice on where you should visit from Paris to make your school trip that much more fun and different.

As such an iconic European city, it’s easy to forget that there are other places just nearby that are worth leaving the main city to see – and even some countries just next door!  Definitely when coming on a school trip its worth taking at least one or more day trips from Paris to explore the surrounding areas.

Versailles Gardens, versailles, the gardens, french castles, attractions, day trips from paris

Versailles Palace

Only a short trip on the RER (a metro-like train that runs all the way into the center of Paris), Versailles has to be high on your list of day trips from Paris.  It would give you and your student group the chance to see not only the Chateau, where the famous hall of mirrors is, but also the beautiful gardens, and even Marie Antoinette’s house – also on the premises. We recommend going out there early so you can really take time in each area but you should be able to do it in just one day.

Champagne houses in Reims, Day trips from paris

If you didn’t already know, the Champagne region of France is only a little over an hour from Paris by train.  Here, you can visit the town as well as a number of champagne houses.  It’s definitely worth your while to explore how the famous drink is made.  We would suggest booking a tour – or two – in advance to make sure you are able to see the cellars.

Day Trips from Paris

It’s crazy really that you can go to and from another country in just one day, but you really can! With a train ride that only takes about an hour and forty-five minutes, Paris to Brussels is definitely worth it for the day.  You can explore the town square with your students, walk through the shopping halls, eat waffles and fries and chocolate, see the beautiful cathedral and just get a chance to experience a city outside of France.

Giverny, Fondation Claude Monet, jardin d'eau, pont japonais, day trips from Paris

Home to famous artist Claude Monet, a trip to Giverny will let you see the beautiful landscapes that inspired so many of his famous works – including the waterlily paintings.  It’ll give you and your students a perfect chance to get away from the metropolis of Paris and experience the countryside and a cute town with famous roots. We would recommend a trip here in the warmer months – in fact, the gardens are actually closed during much of the winter, so make sure you check this before you plan your trip.

How to get to Disneyland Paris, day trips from Paris

Disneyland is the perfect spot for a fun day out as part of a school trip.  We’ve added it to our list of day trips from Paris because not only is it close, but because its Disney! It’s what your students likely remember from their childhood and it’s the perfect spot for a day out – it might not be educational but it’ll sure be fun!

Taking day trips from Paris during your student tour to the infamous city is definitely a must! Whether you plan on leaving the country and heading to Brussels or just taking the RER and exploring Versailles, it’s definitely worth it.  Make sure you to decide before arriving where to head to though to be sure you get the best deals and tickets.  For more help with this planning of your group trip, click here and see how ParisByM can help you.

Trip planners in Paris know the area – it’s their job to understand it better than anyone else.  They live there, they work there, they explore and study exactly what there is to do and see so that they can make the most informed decisions and recommendations for their clients.  Not only can they recommend activities for you, but they can recommend areas to stay, they can recommend hotels to stay in, they can suggest modes of transportation to best suit your groups needs and everything surrounding your trip.  Beyond just recommendations they can book for you, and simply confirm the details with you.  This means you get both a better trip, and also an easier planning process.

Where to Find the Best Affordable Restaurants in Paris for Your Group

School Trips to Paris can be a very expensive undertaking, from hotels, to attractions, to food, sometimes it can feel like the numbers just keep growing and growing and there’s no way to keep the trip within budget.  A big part of this increase in price can be as a result of the cost of eating out during a trip, so we’re here to help you with some advice on how to find the best affordable restaurants in Paris, as well as some of our favorite places.

A new city with a school group is challenging enough with having to worry about transportation, lodging, attractions, and restaurants, so we hope this article can ease some of your stress – you can also visit ParisByM for help with the planning of your group trip. If you’re just looking for advice on finding the best affordable restaurants in Paris though, here’s what we recommend.

Look Things Up Before Hand

Obviously, if you’ve arrived at this page, that’s exactly what you’re doing! That’s the best thing because you may arrive and be very quickly overwhelmed by the volume of restaurants in the city of Paris.  We think the key to finding a good restaurant is knowing the right area to search, so we have a couple of recommendations.

  • The Latin Quarter – full of bustling restaurants, bars, and pubs the Latin Quarter is a great place for student groups to find food.  There are both walk up restaurants as well as sit down restaurants with food from all over the world at generally reasonable prices.  A couple of our favorites are the Creperie des Arts or Au P’Tit Grec for yummy French crêpes – both savory and sweet!
  • Montmartre – this area is famously known for the Sacre Coeur and for being the highest spot in the city where you can get a beautiful 360 view of Paris.  We recommend you walk a little further down and away from the peak attraction to find some great affordable places to eat.  A couple of our top picks are Chartier or Rozell Café but there are many other spots in the area that will certainly catch your eye.

Think about getting on the go food

Paris Food, must try food in Paris, best affordable restaurants in Paris

Paris is known for its Boulangeries which are a great affordable way for you to eat while also enjoying the French culture.  Boulangeries often give you the chance to buy a meal for anywhere around 5-10€ per person and are all over the city so you’ll definitely find one and they are a great way for you to eat on a budget in Paris.

As well as Boulangeries, some places have the option for you to get food as a take away which can be cheaper.  For example, L’As Du Falafel in the Marais allows you to buy your falafel and then explore the area which is definitely worthwhile. We also recommend buying something from a walk-up restaurant in the Latin Quarter and then walking down and eating it along the Seine for a real Parisian experience.

A set menu may be the best thing

indian food in paris, Best Affordable Restaurants in Paris

While on the go food is great, you’ll definitely want to have at least one sit down dinner with your group.  Many of the best affordable restaurants in Paris for groups are those who offer a set menu.  A starter, main, and dessert for a set price can not only make your life easier by giving your students a few specific options, but it is often cheaper than having everyone order from a full menu.  You can find these restaurants in virtually any area of the city, but when eating out with a big school group, it’s probably best to book ahead.

So now that you know where and how to look for the best affordable restaurants in Paris you should go ahead and book your school trip.  For more information on the best areas to stay on a budget, click here, and for help planning your school trip, from lodgings to restaurants, visit the groups tab on our website or click here!

School trips usually mean you have to split everyone up into groups of two or four to pick where to sleep, which can be stressful and mean that your whole group is spread out all over a hotel. One of the best parts about staying in a hostel with a group is that you can have larger numbers in one room – depending on the place obviously, but many have rooms of up to 10 people.  This can mean that not only will you save money, but it will also mean your student group can stay more together if you book a hostel in Paris.

The employees can help you

Hostels have communal areas

Many hostels have bars attached to them which make for great social spaces with other travelers.  If this doesn’t work for your student group, that’s ok because often they also have hang-out areas where you can unwind for the day, or exist while waiting for the rest of your group.  These areas give you a chance to see other people staying in Paris, and also to spend time together! Also, many hostels have kitchens you can use, which can be another great way for you and your group to save money, and make the most out of the hostel’s benefits!

Other travelers will be around to give you advice

Hostels are usually full of young travelers whose aim is to really explore and get to know the city they’re visiting.  That’s why a hostel in Paris can be so great; because you can talk with these other travelers and get their advice on what to see, how to make the most out of the area, and any and all other advice they have about traveling in general.

There are so many things that contribute to a great trip, and your accommodation is definitely a big one, so you want to make sure you pick the right place! We really recommend a hostel in Paris for your school trip.  If you need help with your booking or any part of your group trip, click here.

When planning a Paris group trip for students or adults, you need to think of everything – housing, tours, attractions, meals, transportation and everything in between.  This is an overwhelming task, especially when trying to plan activities in a new city – and potentially with a language barrier.  So here are just a few reasons to consider booking your Paris group trip using a local trip planner.

segway, unusual ways to tour, paris, Paris group

1.They’ll save you time

You probably already know, but planning a Paris group trip is no quick and easy feat, it can be extremely time consuming.  A trip organizer can take away this pressure planning every part of your trip based on your own wants and needsa tailor made package – or you can choose from a selection of pre-designed packages that suit your group, saving you incredible amounts of time!

2. They can create personalized packages

Paris guided tour, Paris Group

As you just heard, trip planners in Paris can make you a package specifically designed to suit the needs of your group.  Traveling with a lot of people means everyone wants a say in what to do, and as with anything, people’s opinions are contradicting one another constantly, so it can be very difficult to know how to plan a trip where everyone is happy. That’s where a trip planner is great! They can tailor make your trip package to make sure everyone enjoys their time in Paris.

3.They know the area

montmartre tour, paris group

This one’s a big one; local trip planners know Paris better than anyone – they’re local! They have knowledge and understanding of the area unlike anyone else.  They can tell you the best place to get a view of the city, or the best time of day to go to the Louvre, or how to get from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame, because this is their city and they know all about it.

4.They have back up plans for you

Paris, le Jules Verne, Tour Eiffel, romantic places in paris, paris group

You’ll likely know that when traveling, rarely does everything go to plan, and it’s hard to be prepared for all potential situations.  The weather can change, people can get sick, a place can be unexpectedly closed. Lots can change at the drop of a hat and a trip planner can have you covered in a way that you may not be able to.  They can create back up plans for you or new ideas of what to do if for example it does rain on a day you were supposed to climb the Eiffel Tower.  It’s much nicer for you and your group to respond to a change in plans with a trip-planners help.

5.It could save you money

It’s a local trip planner’s job to know the city, which means it’s their job to know how to get you the best deals for your trip.  If you give your local trip planner a budget, they can work with it and decide with you the best ways to make the most of your money.

6.It lets you relax

Paris guided tours, paris group

It’s probably become clear to you that planning a Paris group trip can be very time consuming and very stressful.  You have a lot to think about already, with packing, flights, dates, and all the rest, so why not let a trip planner ease some of this stress.  Having someone else be in charge of your schedule, but basing it off your wants and needs, can stop you worrying about the logistics of the trip all the time and can help you really make the most of your time in the city.

Ten Tips for Staying in Student Hostels in Paris

Student Hostels are a great place to stay on a school trip to Paris for many reasons – plus, usually they’re the cheapest option and can hold a lot of people, but they are slightly different to hotels and there are some things you should be sure to do when staying in one.

So, what do I Need to Know?

Student Tours to France, Student Hostels in Paris

A school trip to Paris is an amazing way to get students engaged with other cultures and exposed to the French language.  Student Hostels in Paris may be the perfect accommodation for your group trip to the infamous city, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Here’s our ten top tips to be aware of when staying in student hostels in Paris.

1.Check the Location

Budget Accommodation in Paris, Student Hostels in Paris

Don’t be fooled by cheap prices. Sometimes it’s worth spending a little extra to be close to the sights you want to see, or to be near to a metro station.  Make sure you’re aware of your student hostels proximity to public transport before booking.

2. Book in advance

If you’re a big group – which you likely will be when traveling with a school trip – make sure you book your accommodation in advance to make sure you get the best prices and the best locations possible.

3. Lock up your valuables

Most student hostels in Paris have lockers where you can store your belongings when you leave for the day. This is great when you’re staying in communal rooms to be sure your stuff stays safe – just make sure you remember to bring a lock!

4. Check the check in and out times

You don’t want to get caught out with an early check out time on your last day, or a late check in when you arrive. Just be sure that the times you need to arrive and leave make sense with your travel schedule.

5. Bring your own shower supplies

Student Trips to Paris, Student Hostels in Paris

Arrive at your hostel with a towel, shower caddy, and even flip flops if you want. Most student hostels in Paris don’t supply you with a towel – this is something you can clarify with them – and if you’re sharing a bathroom with a lot of people you’ll probably want some shoes to walk around in as well as a bag for your toiletries.

6. Check if breakfast is included

Book one of our Paris vacation packages to fully discover the city within your time and budget constraints. The Paris weekend escape is aimed at people who already came to Paris and want to discover new things this time. Limit your trip to Paris cost., brunch spots in paris, student hostels in paris

This can save you and your group a lot of money and effort. It’s definitely important you know whether breakfast is included before arriving because this can impact your groups plans for the day.

7. Find a place with working Wi-Fi

There’s nothing worse than being in a foreign country with no way to get in contact with home – or to check directions. Staying in a hostel with useable Wi-Fi can make a big difference to the ease of your trip so definitely think about this when booking.

8. Ask for or bring earplugs

As you probably already know, sharing a room with other people can be hard. Some people snore, some fidget, some stay awake typing, and some just seem to make noise all the time and a good night’s sleep can be the make or break of a good day! That’s why we recommend either bringing earplugs with you or asking at the front desk for them.

9. Bring layers of pajamas

cheap accommodation paris, student hostels in paris

You never know until you arrive whether the room is going to be hot or cold or if you’ll have control of the temperature, so you’ll definitely want to bring layers to sleep in so you are prepared for all temperatures.

10. Ask the people around you for advice

When staying in a student hostel in Paris, you’ll definitely come across other young travelers, so don’t be shy about asking them about their experience or any tips for your time in the city. Also remember that the employees of the hostel know the city better than anyone, so you should try to take advantage of their expertise!

So, what do I do Now?

Your next step is to book your student trip! Paris is definitely worth seeing and the perfect place to visit on a school trip, but obviously we know that a place to stay is only the beginning.  You have a lot more to think about, so for help with planning your trip, visit ParisByM’s website by clicking here.

What You Need to Know Before Planning Student Trips to Paris

Paris is the perfect city to bring a student group.  Full of history, architecture, art, and culture the city has so much to offer for a school trip.  But when planning student trips to Paris, you need to consider a few things.  ParisByM has created a list of helpful things to know for before and during the planning of a school trip.

What do I Need to Know?

Student Trips to Paris

When booking student trips to Paris it’s important you don’t get too overwhelmed.  We understand you have a lot of things to consider and to research, and it’s hard to not get bogged down by this.  The most important thing is that before you start any planning at all, you think about what it is you and your students are hoping to get out of the trip.  For help with this decision, here is a list of some things we recommend doing in Paris.  Once you’ve thought a little about these, but before you’ve made any firm plans, consider these helpful things to know.

Start Planning Early

Student Trips to Paris

You’re going to want to plan student trips to Paris as far in advance as possible because it’ll help you save money and make sure you have as many options as imaginable.  The earlier you book, likely the better prices you’ll get for hotels or hostels.  On top of this if you book early you can almost always guarantee you and your group tickets to the attractions that are most important to you.  As well as attractions, if you’re visiting Paris with a large group of students, it might be a good idea for you to book restaurants in advance.  If you know your plan for a day and where you want to eat, it’s definitely worthwhile because at dinner time in Paris it’s not uncommon for a restaurant to fill up very quickly, and with a big group, it might be hard to find somewhere without a reservation.

Consider Booking for Groups Vs. Individuals

group trips to Paris, paris trip planner, student trips to paris

It’s often true that different things will be available for groups versus for individuals in pairs, so it’s important to be aware of this before arriving or booking anything.  Make sure you know how many people will be in your group and that you plan accordingly.  If you’re planning student trips to Paris, we suggest that you plan using a tourism agency or local travel agent because they will be able to give you the most accurate information and help on the best way to plan for a group.

What’s the Best Season for You?

Paris is a city that changes dramatically from season to season, you may see pictures of people picnicking in front of the Eiffel Tower in the middle of summer or of snow all over Notre Dame at Christmas.  So, before you make any plans for your student trips to Paris, make sure you think about what activities you’re planning and when would be the best time to do them.

Know How You Plan on Getting Around

The public transportation system is relatively easy to maneuver in Paris but you might want to do a little research before-hand.  Depending on your group size and your plans for the trip, you could consider renting a minibus or looking into other forms of transportation if the metro is too confusing in a big group.  This is another reason we suggest contacting a local tourism agency to get to know all your options and how to best accommodate your group.  For more information on our group tours and personalized packages, just click here.

You Will Need Euros and Adapters

Student trips to paris

Remember before arriving in Paris, you’ll want to make sure everyone in your group has their own adapter for European plugs – there’s nothing worse than getting to a new place with no way to charge your phone! You should also make sure everyone always has some cash on them – in euros!  While most places nowadays accept cards, you can never be completely sure, and you don’t want to be caught out in an unfamiliar city.

Paris really is the perfect place for a school trip, but it is easy to be overwhelmed by all there is to think about.  For help with planning or information on our group tour packages, click here.

There are two major places in Normandy we recommend for a visit during student tours to France – Caen and the Mont St Michel, both of which are only about an hour’s drive from one another.  Caen is famous for being the city of 100 steeples which means your group will have a chance to see the architecture and religion that existed in Normandy.  On top of this you can explore the famous WWII museum and give your students a chance to learn both about France, Normandy, and the history of the war.

We also suggest taking the time to see the stunning Mont St Michel.  The drive is definitely worthwhile because you can explore the Abbey and see beautiful views of the beaches of Normandy.  Just make sure you get to the Island safely via the causeway; we recommend booking this excursion through a tour.

Famously the seat of European Parliament, this city is a great place for student tours in France to visit to learn about history and government, as well as architecture.  This city, located in the North East of France, gives you the chance to see both Roman Gothic Cathedrals, and Germanic style timber houses – something that’s well worth a look. If you go in the winter time too, you may even get to see some of the city’s world-famous Christmas Markets.

As home of the iconic Cannes Film Festival, this city is a must for its beauty and art culture.  This town on the French Riviera has so much to offer. It’s stunning and its coastal views are like nothing else.  Also, while you’re there you can explore beautiful cobbled streets, markets, and colorful buildings.  You can even explore the city in search of the painted walls, or murals of many great French and world cinema figures.
