So, what do you want to see?

Before deciding where to go, you have to decide what you want to see – meaning what type of trip you’re looking for.  Is history a priority? Or art and architecture? Or religious education? Or are you just trying to admire the beauty of France? Luckily, we’ve got you covered on all fronts with these four must see Cities.

There are two major places in Normandy we recommend for a visit during student tours to France – Caen and the Mont St Michel, both of which are only about an hour’s drive from one another.  Caen is famous for being the city of 100 steeples which means your group will have a chance to see the architecture and religion that existed in Normandy.  On top of this you can explore the famous WWII museum and give your students a chance to learn both about France, Normandy, and the history of the war.

We also suggest taking the time to see the stunning Mont St Michel.  The drive is definitely worthwhile because you can explore the Abbey and see beautiful views of the beaches of Normandy.  Just make sure you get to the Island safely via the causeway; we recommend booking this excursion through a tour.

Famously the seat of European Parliament, this city is a great place for student tours in France to visit to learn about history and government, as well as architecture.  This city, located in the North East of France, gives you the chance to see both Roman Gothic Cathedrals, and Germanic style timber houses – something that’s well worth a look. If you go in the winter time too, you may even get to see some of the city’s world-famous Christmas Markets.

As home of the iconic Cannes Film Festival, this city is a must for its beauty and art culture.  This town on the French Riviera has so much to offer. It’s stunning and its coastal views are like nothing else.  Also, while you’re there you can explore beautiful cobbled streets, markets, and colorful buildings.  You can even explore the city in search of the painted walls, or murals of many great French and world cinema figures.

So, What do You do Now?

When trying to plan student tours to France, there are so many places to think about.  We hope this list has helped you but we suggest talking to a travel agent or trip planner about exactly what you should do to make sure you make the most of your time in the country.
